Data we process

BalanceBudget processes your email address, account identifier, encrypted finance records, budget membership and ownership metadata, encryption-key metadata, and settings needed to run the service. The app also keeps local cache, preferences, and session data on your device. Signing out clears local data except the last signed-in email.

Financial record contents are encrypted by the app before remote storage. Authorised members of a shared budget can access that budget’s data.

Why we use it

We use this data only to create and secure accounts, synchronize and display your budgets, provide shared-budget features, maintain the service, answer support requests, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell data, use it for advertising, profile users, or run product analytics.

Processing is necessary to provide the requested service, protect the service and accounts, and meet legal obligations where applicable.

Storage and providers

Remote account and budget data is stored with Supabase. This project’s primary Supabase region is Ireland, EU (eu-west-1). Supabase may use approved subprocessors and process data as described in its Privacy Policy and Data Processing Addendum.

For exchange-rate lookups, the app contacts Frankfurter with the requested date and currency codes. It does not send your account or finance-record contents to that provider.

Retention and your rights

We keep remote data while your account is active or until deletion is requested, subject to backup retention and legal obligations. Email us to request access, correction, restriction, objection, portability, or deletion. We may ask for information to verify your identity. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

BalanceBudget handles requests about your data. Contact Supabase only for questions about Supabase’s own privacy practices or infrastructure.

We may update this policy when the service or legal requirements change. The current version is published on this page.
